Public Hearing – October 28, 2009 – 7:00 P.M – Regarding Ordinance to Adopt the Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Lake Tomahawk.
The public hearing that the Town of Lake Tomahawk Town Board and the Lake Tomahawk Plan Commission on the proposed ordinance to adopt the Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan was called to order by Town Chairman Rick Mazurczak at 7:06 P.M.
All notices were posted according to the open meetings law and the media was notified.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairman Rick Mazurczak.
Rick Mazurczak introduces Fred Schnook of Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC. Fred Schnook gave a brief presentation on the organization of the plan. The plan is to create consistency and predictability, efficiencies and Community fiscal responsibilities. The public and the board made several comments. There were questions regarding restricted mix use, how to preserve green space, clustering development etc. Everyone in attendance was reminded that the plan is a work in progress. There are nine elements in the plan which include housing, transportation, utilities, issues and opportunities, economic development, communication facilities, intergovernmental cooperation land use, and implementation and natural and cultural resources. All of these elements were taken into consideration when the commission prepared the plan. The commission distributed surveys and had a 65percent return rate. The commission held public informational meeting s in April 2008, and July 23, 2008. The commission passed a formal resolution on Aug. 25, 2009, recommending to the town board to adopt the plan. Chairman Mazurczak he would like to see the plan adopted.

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING – OCTOBER 28, 2009 IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC HEARING.
The special town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Rick Mazurczak at 8:35 P.M. in the Raymond F. Sloan Community Building.
All notices were posted according to the open meetings law and the media was notified.
Present: Chairman Rick Mazurczak, Supervisor Shawn Tingley, Treasurer Mike Lynch and Clerk Patricia Christy. Jack Dunbar was absent.
1st reading of the Comprehensive Plan Ordinance – Motion by Mazurczak, sec’d by Tingley to approve the 1st reading of the ordinance to adopt the Town of Lake Tomahawk year 2030 Comprehensive Plan. On a voice vote to approve the plan Mazurczak aye, Tingley aye. Dunbar was absent. Motion passed.
Accept resignation of Jim Heller Sanitary District Commissioner - Motion by Mazurczak, sec’d by Tingley to accept the resignation of Jim Heller as Sanitary District Commissioner and to put an ad in the paper. Motion carried.
